Who we are
Bath Spa University and the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust are joint data controllers for the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998.
We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law. Please read it so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We will collect and process the personal information that we need to run our competition. The personal information that we will collect includes: the names and ages of the children who enter and their parent’s / guardian’s names, telephone numbers and email addresses. By proceeding to use our website you consent that we may process the personal data that we collect from you in accordance with this privacy policy. - All entries and associated information will be collected via Google Forms, and information will be saved on Google Drive (password protected). To find out more about how Google deals with data protection, read Google Cloud and GDPR.
- We will use information we hold about you enable us to manage and administer the ‘See what I see’ competition, including providing you with updates in relation to the competition and notifying you if you are a winner.
- As per the Terms and Conditions of the competition, winners and commended entrants agree to participate in reasonable publicity, we will use the personal details we hold in order to contact you about this.
- The names and ages of winning and commended entrants (but no other personal information) will be published online. The contact information of winning and commended entrants will be kept for a maximum of one year after the competition closes.
Apart from the reasons state above, and the associated technologies, we will not share the personal data from your entry forms with any other third parties.
We rely on your consent to process your / your child’s personal information for the purposes of the competition. You may withdraw your consent and your entry at any time by contacting us at: admin@seewhatisee.me
Where entrants are not awarded a prize or commended, their personal information will be deleted once the competition closes and winners have been announced.
More specifically, at the end of the competition, all entries will be anonymised of all personal information and held indefinitely by Bath Spa University for purposes of academic research, as stated in the ‘Research and Archive’ page of the website. If you do not wish us to use your anonymised submissions for future research projects please ensure that you let us know on the entry form at the time of your submission. We regret that you will not be able to withdraw your submission from any future research once entries have been anonymised.
